Sand Monitoring Services

Sand detection monitors and mitigates sand particles in produced hydrocarbons, which can erode pipelines and damage equipment.

Acoustic or erosion probes installed along flowlines detect sand levels. Data triggers alerts for operators to adjust choke settings or install filters. Continuous monitoring prevents costly repairs.

We design and install customized sand management systems, integrating sensors with control software. Our solutions protect infrastructure and improve production longevity.
This facilitates an instantaneous response to solids production thereby mitigating damage. The approach also provides the platform for the development of reliable empirical models/algorithms for the trending of the reservoir behaviour and establishing safe operational limits in terms of erosion damage.
Clat Energy range of products provide options for Pressure, Temperature, Erosion or Corrosion measurement.
The Roxar Topside Sand Erosion monitoring system can roughly be divided into two main parts:
     ·Intrusive monitoring
     ·Acoustic (non-intrusive) monitoring
For the Intrusive monitoring, the main feature of it is the intrusive probe. The probes are inserted directly into the flow to monitor erosion. A variety of different probes exist for different applications and conditions.
The Sand erosion monitoring uses the erosion probes and SandLog data logger. The probes are passive components, and require connection to an instrument – SandLog in order to take a measurement and store this. The stored results are then downloaded to a PC at set intervals (online system) via a field interface (FIU), or to a hand held device (offline system). The PC in online system connects to the DCS using one of several interfaces available. There is also an option to interface instruments (SandLog) directly to DCS via 4-20mA interface.

Our Acoustic Sand monitoring which is non-intrusive monitoring system based on an acoustic emission sensor is clamped directly onto the pipe.
The system can be used for oil, gas and multiphase flow lines. SAM 400TC is sensor for our acoustic sand monitoring.

The sand detector measures the amount of sand particles in a flow. It is attached to the pipeline downstream to a 90° bend. Sand particles transported with the flow hit the pipe wall at bends in the pipeline due to inertia, generating noise propagating in the pipe wall. The detected noise is converted to a digital signal, which is transmitted via the sensor power cable to the safe area electronics. The safe area electronics comprises a 24V DC Power Supply Unit (PSU), a Calculation & Interface Unit (CIU), and a safety barrier against the detector in the hazardous area. The CIU is a Modbus slave unit that calculates sand production rate based on the sensor signal and built-in algorithms. Detector readings for up to 90 days are stored in an internal flash memory.

Sand Monitoring Services plays a major role in oil industry
It helps to prove the effectiveness  of sand trap In trapping particles
It  optimizes production
It  reduces maintenance costs
Controlling the sand production is not only for optimizing production, but also an important safety issue.
A Dual detector is a redundant system( which means that if one detector fails you can still collect data from the other detector.
